|Tool Factory Keyboarding Adventure - Improve Keyboarding Skills the fun way!|| |
|Embark on an action packed touch-typing adventure through the Australian Outback with your animated young guide Kewala the Koala! Tool Factory Keyboarding Adventure includes 10 elementary-level units carefully designed to lead students through a progression of keyboarding skills in either English or Spanish. The first 8 adventures teach students to type with ten fingers while developing the ability to read while typing. Selected letter combinations are grouped to develop basic recognition and location knowledge. Then, lessons are constructed with complete English sentences and become part of a developing storyline. Students type faster so Kewala will avoid constant perils and survive his journey to the Kingdom of Eaz! |
The program illustrates proper posture and hand positioning for development of good ergonomic habits right from the beginning. The 9th and 10th challenges develop speed and accuracy with occasional nonsense words utilized to practice unusual letter combinations and develop concentration skills. Teacher controls include the ability to change font sizes, colors, select 2 spaces between sentences, and select hard return or space at the end of a line. Detailed tracking, reporting and class management features included. With clever commentary and enthusiasm Kewala motivates children to keep typing without ever knowing that they are learning!
|Literacy Activity Builder|| |
|This innovative set of template-based tools makes it easy to integrate ICT into literacy - quickly, simply and effectively.|
Based on the activity type frameworks, teachers are guided wizard-style through the creation of literacy activities for the interactive whiteboard. With the click of a button, the program turns your content into professional looking interactive whiteboard activites, perfect for full class teaching.
|Idiom Track|| |
|Engaging, fun graphics illustrate the literal and real meaning of each idiom, grouped within categories such as animals, food and drink, color, and parts of the body. Activities to further practice and reinforce the meanings of idioms gradually build up the users’ understanding and confidence in the social skills of communication (what does it mean? complete the idiom, choose the real meaning, choose the correct idiom).|
|Alphabet Track|| |
|Early and older learners will acquire more spelling independence and be on track for developing alphabet skills. Learn the names of letters, practice alphabetical order, improve short term memory, and recall alphabetic sequence. Eight self-paced activities are switch-accessible and fully configurable, with selectable colors and levels of difficulty. Record the alphabet in your own voice or student's voice. Activities include: ordering and typing the alphabet, match and identify, see and remember, hear and remember, alphabet quiz, listen and spell, and alphabet battle. Research-based, this program is a critical addition to every early reading program. |
Full audio support.
Three levels of difficulty.
Record the alphabet in student's own voice.
|Word Track|| |
|Switch users, young students, and learners of all ages with specific learning needs will practice tracking words in the context of 180 sentences, arranged in order of increasing phonic complexity. A sentence is shown on the screen and simultaneously spoken by the audio. Then it disappears, and the student tracks each word by clicking the correct words, in order, from amongst a string of other words. The appropriate punctuation mark must also be tracked. After tracking, students type the sentence with correct capitalization and punctuation. As a reward, the program colors in and animates an illustration shown with the sentence. Individualize for each learner through the teacher options. Set timing for memory work, pick colors, limit access to specific sentences, or print a report of each student's progress.|
The activities in Word Track help students develop the following skills:
Reading and spelling of high frequency words and words prone to letter-order mistakes.
The use of the 'look, say, remember, type, check' spelling strategy.
Keyboard awareness and typing skills.
Grammar skills such as punctuation and capitalization.
This program is ideal for "Reading First" programs, special education, and inclusion classes.
