Instructions
This tutorial will teach you how to create different fields within a database record. For this example the data that will be collected and stored is:
1. The student's name.
2. Favorite color.
3. Height.
4. A picture of their pet.
5. How they get to school.

Add a Field to Store the Student's Name
Step 1 - On the Database toolbar click the Field List button to open the Field List panel.

Step 2 - Click the New Field button in the Field List panel.

Step 3 - Name the field 'Name'.

Step 4 - Click on the drop down menu next to type and select Text.

Step 5 - Click the Add button. The Field List panel is now ready for the next field to be added.

Add a Field to Store their Favorite Color
Step 1 - Name the field color.

Step 2 - Click on the drop down menu and select color as the field type.

Step 3 - Click the Add button.

Add a Field to Store their Height
Step 1 - Name the Field height (cm).

Step 2 - Click on the drop down menu and select Number.

Step 3 - Click on the Add button.

Add a Field to Store their Pet
Step 1 - Name the field My Pet.

Step 2 - Select Picture from the drop down menu.

Step 3 - Click the Add button.

Add a Field to Store How They Get to School
Step 1 - Name the field How I Get to School.

Step 2 - Select Text from the drop down menu.

Step 3 - Click the Use List tick box. The New Field window will expand to allow you to construct your list.

Step 4 - Type Walk into the text box and click Add.

Step 5 - Type Cycle into the text box and click Add.

Step 6 - Type Car into the text box and click Add.

Step 7 - Type Bus into the text box and click Add.

Step 8 - Type Other into the text box and click Add.

Step 9 - Click Display to close the New Field box and show the fields on the page.

You have now successfully created multiple fields! If you are having problems creating fields of your own don't be afraid to use this as a template and then alter it to your needs!
