In conjunction with the Calliper tool, the Ruler is another tool for your students to use when measuring.

Step 1 - On the Word Processor toolbar click the Polygon button and draw a polygon.

Step 2 - Click on the Ruler button on the Math Draw toolbar and the mouse will change to a crosshairs.

Step 3 - Click on the page where you would like the ruler to start and move the mouse to extend the ruler. Click when you have the your desired length. The ruler can now be selected (click once to select) and dragged to the object you would like to measure.

Step 4 - If the ruler is too large or too small it can be easily reapportioned. First, select the ruler by clicking on it.

Step 5 - Click, hold, and drag one of the red boxes in the corner to resize the ruler and drag the green box in the middle to rotate it.

TIP: The unit of measurement that the ruler uses can be set in the Scale Drawing function. To do this click on the Grid button on the Math Draw toolbar, check the box that says scale drawing, and select your desired measurement.
