Linking sound to an object is a creative way to make the object more exciting.
Step 1 - Select a sound from the Resource Bank and drag it into your document.
Step 2 - Select the object you want to link the sound to (left mouse click), and then select the sound (right mouse click). It is very important to note that the object NEEDS to be selected first or this function won't work.
Step 3 - Click on the Links button then click on the Speech tab within the Links window.
Step 4 - Click in the box to the left of the word Sound to create the link.
Step 5 - Activate the link itself by first clicking on the page, then clicking on the object itself.
You can also record your own sound.
Step 1 - Select the object you want to link the sound to and open the Links window (as above).
Step 2 - Click on Speech then on the red Record button.
Step 3 - Record your sound and then close both the Sound and Link windows.
Step 4 - Activate the link by first clicking on the page, then clicking on the object itself.
Linking sound to objects can be a lot of fun. Try linking some objects with correct sounds and some with incorrect sounds and see if your students can identify which ones are incorrect.
