Classifying Organisms Grade: 3-8 Subject(s): Life Sciences Required products: Tool Factory Word Processor Materials Tool Factory Word Processor Overview Students search the media banks of Tool Factory Word Processor and the internet for pictures and words that can be categorized as producer, consumer, or decomposer. Instructions 1) Open Tool Factory Word Processor and the "Classifying Organisms" worksheet. Have students save the worksheet as their own. 2) Each column contains one picture to help students get started. 3) Students search the picture and word banks to find as many items that can be categorized in the three columns as possible. They can then search the internet for more material. 4) You may also want students to label each picture. They can practice changing the font and color of each caption. 5) Remind students to save their work.
