Students begin to plan a short story book, using the provided templates to brainstorm and outline the plot, setting, characters, sequence of events, and dialog exchanges.
1) Suggest that students design a story plot based on an event that has occurred in their own lives. Lead students through a brainstorming exercise to generate plot ideas. 2) Open the "Storybook Outline" documents. Use FILE> SAVE AS to save documents as student's own. 3) Complete the outlines for plot, characters, setting, and dialog. If more space is needed, simply add pages or copy the existing outlines. 4) Remind students to save their work.
Have the students take digital photographs of people they know. Base the story and plot on the photographs.
