    Overview
Students use Tool Factory Word Processor to compose and edit a "guided tour" around their favorite place, which can be anything from a corner of the classroom to a country they have visited. Students use nouns, verbs, and adjectives to describe their favorite place. Pictures from the clipart bank or the hard drive are added to illustrate the guide.
    Instructions
    1) Open the "Favorite Place Prewriting Worksheet" in Tool Factory Word Processor by selecting FILE>OPEN.
    2) Students select FILE>SAVE AS to save the document as their own.
    3) The questions about the student's favorite place are answered on the lines provided. A grammar guide may help students refresh their understanding of the parts of speech.
    4) Direct students to create a new document in Tool Factory Word Processor. The page can be set up to be horizontal (landscape) or vertical (portrait).
    5) Students make a flyer about their favorite place. They should be creative and try to convince others that their place is as great as they know it to be. Direct students to use descriptive language and highlight the nouns, verbs, and adjectives in their flyer with the same colors they used in the first sheet.
    Follow-up Activities
