    Overview
    The seasonal competition schedule of each sports team is gathered and entered into Tool Factory Database. Information includes: name of sport, date, location, competitor, competitor's statistics, home team statistics, photo of the teams or schools. High school students then practice exporting this data into a spreadsheet as comma separated values (.CSV format).
    Instructions
    1) Student open Tool Factory Database and click on "Change a Database."
    2) The "Sports Statistics Database" is opened. Students may add fields in the add a field mode, change the layout in layout mode, and enter data in entry mode.
    3) Using data supplied by the athletic director and/or coaches, or information gathered by reporters, the student fills in as many of the fields as possible.
    4) This database will serve as a reference for students later when they are ready to write a sports feature article.
    5) Remind students to save their work.
